Never in my life thought I would buy two hundred dollars flashlight. But I did. And I love it. What a fun toy! Well, this is not a toy, but I get so much pleasure it can also be one.
What you get for a electronics junkie who has everything? You might consider taking this flashlight. This is the highest power light for the smallest body flashlight I've seen.
It has two light settings which I have termed medium and awesome:
The "Medium" throws a beam of 15 lumens for 47 hours.
The "Awesome" throws a beam of 200 lumens for 2 hours.
The light turns in two ways-one is the button on the back. This is not a "click / click off" button that you can use to. This is a "push and the light turns on, and take your finger off the back and the light turns off" button. Push it halfway and the medium rays came in and push it all the way and the awesome beam turns on. Let it go andgoes dark immediately. At first I thought, well, interesting, but what if I want it to stay on permanently? No worries-this is a second way of producing light-just twist the end of "mag-lite" and then a full twist the rays come in medium, and then another half- twist the rays came awesome. Now it will stay as long as you want.
Unlike most of the cheaper LED lights that I bought in the past, this light is high quality that is as solid as a brickand it is entirely made of anodized aluminum, not cheap plastic here! It is no surprise that often hear the word "professional" and "tactical" when reading about the light. The surefire lights are often used by military, Hunters, aviators, and law enforcement. This is the kind of light you see on TV detective shows of all time, where the main character holds a light up and pushes the button on the back of a thumb, illuminating the darkest place in any scene is they are in. It istype of light that I would feel safe having while walking at night, because if it shone in the eyes of a blind person is it really them.
Speaking of which, this light is really similar to self-defense flashlight surefire seller, with two main differences: First, medium defense flashlight smile itself is actually a low beam, it only puts out 5 15 lumens lumens against it Flashlight's. 5 lumens probably fine, but I find 15 lumens to be perfect for most activitiesI really need a flashlight for. And second, the self-defense flashlight is crenellations the end of the flashlight, which means it's some nasty bumps imprint on the forehead of a person if you poked it with them. Although, I would rather a blind person and going to get into an ugly situation, so I chose the higher lumened lower light settings, and I am very happy with the decision.
This is the perfect light to take with you walking at night, as it isperfectly fits into a pocket, and give you a measure of comfort knowing that you are able to see very far when you need to, or a blind person or threaten them if they start stalking or attacking you.
The surefire brand is produced in America but the battery and the LED, flashlight if you register there is a lifetime warranty.
It also comes with a lanyard so if you're doing something where you do not have easy access to your pockets, you can just hanglight from your neck. (The line, by the way, is a "break-away" line. If it caught on something, and if you pull hard enough, tear-line to prevent choking, and it is a simple task to get hooked it back up again.)
This light uses two 3 volt lithium battery so you might want to buy a box of it for backup. And, these lithium batteries for the last 10 years. (Consider also buying surefire brand batteries. I have not used it long enoughto vouch for them, but other reviewers seem to really think they have a higher quality than some generic brands of lithium batteries.)
By the way, you can also buy red and blue lens covers, if you change the white beam with a red or blue rays. I do not have them but I imagine they are very useful in situations night vision.
And, yes, flashlight comes with batteries installed. do not need to purchase additional batteries to get started.
Love this light. Can not wait for a noise outside so I can get my reliable and accurate blind any out there!

Used two hunts entering the forest in the morning. Worked well on the same day search of the tree stand. Green LED lights too bright. Well constructed, also clips with hat or head strap. Easy to turn on and off, and beauty of it is replaced with the regular AAA bats.

Very good flashlight, good function (but rarely use them) and good explanations. The only thing is that lighting comes at a cost of a stated 4 hours runtime. But in my experience it may be a little lower. In addition I wonder how useful SOS functions are built with such a short runtime.
The light uses a Lithium battery cr123a getting popular in the camera and lens equipment. In Canada the batteries are extremely expensive (as much as $ 15 perPair). As a result I went on-line and bought an inventory of batteries for a fraction of Canada's price - $ 1.50 per battery vs $ 7.00. Big difference. Thank goodness for the global market!
The lens has good weight and balance. I use it primarily for walking the dog at night. It provides a great deal of safety as the 3 watt beam penetrates a fair distance. The smile is a little more widespread than what I'd like but that is personal preference. Others will want the wide beamit offers. I myself like it's a little more concentrated.
Overall I am very pleased with the purchase and the product but again the cost of batteries is to my mind too much. Fortunately I was able to find another source.
