Cheap Impact Resistant Flashlight Review

This is a review of 2aaa light version of hard cases, not the version 2aa. Mine says made in 2007.

I just got this light from Home Depot. I have some high-end Fenix LED lights, but the light is actually quite wonderful for ~ 15 dollars I paid for it. It puts out 30 Lumens or from a single LED. Be a luxeon. 30 Lumens seems accurate. It is somewhat brighter than a streamlight microstream or pen pro, but with a blueish tint - kind of expected with lower endLED's sadly. It's actually a fairly nice though overall beam. Lens is plastic and I'm guessing this is too REFLECTOR (painted).

The light is ergonomic and seems like it'd survive a beating. This version says it would survive a 15 foot drop compared with 30, but probably because it is not "soft" rubber band around it, but rather is harder rubber / plastic. Still seems very durable. Machined aluminum LED flashlights have superior components and build quality (thinkFenix), but I really wonder if they continue in the long drops or hits better than a light like this because they "absorb" much impact or vibration unless the elements within the light some. My guess is Fenix light I'd still better, but I feel like using my own lights to test such theories ... :)

Light has a nylon bag that provides more protection?

It is very ergonomic as well which is a big plus. It slides and a lot ofplastic with metal inside so it makes your hands very cold or hot.

Contacts within the course is not anywhere near the quality of a high end light Fenix which is why it is not too expensive, but I still it.

The total is a very light and I would highly recommend this only if you are looking for a good light to use around the home.
