I do not know why, but I have a fascination with LED flashlights. I have no less than 10 of these different types scattered around my house and my truck.

Like any other people, I want my ... I prefer lights with a "Clicky" switch to either the tail or the side of the body, not the "twist to turn on / off" head or tail. I also like the single LED lights instead of the multi-LED configurations. Like a light that can stand on its tail so I can use it to "candle"mode for hands free lighting, such as during a power outage or when I need both hands to do whatever it needs doing. I want it to use standard size, readily available battery, not some special size or type that costs a small fortune to replace and hard to find. I'm not at all "fancy" mode that some offer light, such as multiple levels of output or Blinking or Morse code. Just give me a light that turns on and off and I was happy.

light it certainly meetsalmost all of my criteria: Clicky switch tail, can stand on its tail, single LED, uses C batteries, and just a click on / click off the light. It is not too large, which is nice for people like my mother and sister, who have smaller hands. But it is large enough so that you lose it down on the couch or elsewhere. Well I suppose you could, but not as easy as the small AA and AAA flashlights me. The "focusing" section that allows you to change the beam is not extremely useful indoors, I do nottried it out to see if it is useful in that scenario. Throws a great smile, but not so bright as to be blinding.

I bought some to give gifts at Christmas, and all seemed pleased.

Overall, a good, solid feel, medium sized flashlight to keep on top of the fridge or some other easy-to-use place.
